Write Now is a series of activity books that complement our Turning Pages manuals. These books give learners the opportunity to further develop their practical skills in comprehension, reading and writing. All the books also feature a range of stories for learners to enjoy.

Each of the 5 Write Now books is designed to be used alongside the corresponding Turning Pages manual. There are 3 sections per book, with learners starting each one as they complete the corresponding manual progress check.

Write Now follows a similar layout to Turning Pages: two facing pages provide supporter guidance on the left-hand page, with tasks for learners to complete on the right-hand page. There is a handy ‘activity guide’ at the back of each book that lists every activity and story covered, so learners can find anything particular that they want to practise.

In Write Now 5, learners will write words with more complex sounds in the middle, in addition to developing their understanding of how to choose the correct letter combinations. Practical writing activities include composing a formal letter, planning a speech and reflecting on their learning journey. Guidance on how to use a dictionary is also included. By now learners will have gained the confidence and skills to complete some activities on their own, so in this book more of the instructions are on the learners’ side of the page.
